Vijay Darda

Vijay Darda has been carrying forward the vision of his father and mentor Jawaharlal Darda in nurturing educational institutions. He created a complete ecosystem in his hometown Yavatmal, whereby students can avail the facility to learn from ‘K.G. to P.G.’ (Kindergarten to Post Graduation) in diverse streams. Collectively 25,000 students study in these academic establishments that are listed as follows:

Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering & Technology (JDIET)

JDIET was set up in 1996 with the mission to deliver excellence in engineering education and to provide highest quality resources, learning processes and research for creating technically qualified professionals.Over the past 25 years, it has grown into a centre for excellence with an accreditation of Grade ‘A’ by NBA, NAAC and IRIF (USA).

The institute has a built-up infrastructure of 2.95 lakhs square feet spread over 17.3 acres of green campus. It is affiliated to the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and has over 1600 engineering students on its roll with an annual intake of 480. It offers Bachelors of Engineering degree in seven specialised branches with fully equipped facilities.

Amolakchand Mahavidyalaya

Established in 1956 by Vidya Prasarak Mandal, the foundation stone of the college was laid by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Yashwantrao Chavan. Overtime, it has become a centre for excellence offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of arts, commerce, science.

The college boasts of a 39 acres campus with facilities like e-classrooms, conference rooms, laboratories, auditorium hall and library. Its faculty strives to transform students through an innovative and compassionate teaching approach. The Golden Jubilee celebration was addressed by the former Presidents of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Smt. Pratibha Patil.

Amolakchand Law College

The college was established in 1962 with a vision to pioneer legal education reforms and to anchor the transformation of the Indian legal system. It houses a state-of-the-art infrastructure with moot courts, tech-enabled classrooms, computer laboratory, well-stocked library, in addition to a well-framed curriculum and qualified faculty.

Affiliated to Amravati University, the college offers three-year and five-year undergraduate courses in law. It organises national conferences that have been attended by eminent personalities like former President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil, former Union Law Ministers Mr. M. Veerappa Moily and Mr. Kapil Sibal.

College of Physical Education

Hanuman Vyayamshala Krida Mandal, a pioneer in organising ‘All India Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournaments’, set up the College of Physical Education in 1991. It aims to provide training to potential sportsmen for national and global competitions and to establish a centre for Yoga studies. To date, it has coached over 400 players in various sports including volleyball, table tennis, badminton, kho-kho and wrestling.

The college with a huge sports complex and indoor stadium has an annual intake of 200 students for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. In addition to organising the Maharashtra Kesari Wrestling Championship and similar body-building competitions in Vidarbha, it has also hosted several state and national level seminars to highlight the importance of physical education.

Yavatmal Public School (YPS)

Founded in 2006, YPS is the first private unaided CBSE school in Yavatmal district. It has fast emerged as the premier school in the region with Grade ‘A’ certification from FJEI, Pune. It hosts classes from pre-primary to XII with a full strength capacity of about 1400 students, and provides world-class facilities including technology enabled classrooms.

Xseed-Idiscoveri pattern of teaching is implemented for pre-primary to class IV, along with E-learning facility from NIIT and Bansal Satellite Learning Program for engineering and medical aspirants. The school also boasts of a 400-seater auditorium and imparts special training in arts, music, dance, including indoor and outdoor sports.

Anglo Hindi High School and Junior College

The school was founded in 1934 with a mission to provide quality education to students from different castes, communities and financial backgrounds. It was previously run by Hindi Prasarak Mandal (Berar) and has since been transformed into an affordable top-level educational establishment under the patronage of Vijay Darda

The campus has been upgraded with all hi-tech facilities and modern infrastructure. It offers a holistic learning environment to students with a special focus on extracurricular activities such as sports and arts. It has given exceptional results in the academic sphere and maintains a strength of about 1200 students.
