Ameen Sayani, renowned broadcaster and presenter at All India Radio, expressed his fondness for interacting with the audience during a discussion with Lokmat Media Group on May 14, 2004.
The conversation was a part of the musical event ‘Nagpur Ki Ek Sham Ghazal Ke Naam’ held at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in Nagpur to mark the relaunch of Lokmat Samachar.
Alongside Sayani, the event was graced by Pakistani ghazal singer Ustad Ghulam Ali, indutrialist Nikhil Gandhi, renowned lyricist Narayan Agrawal ‘Narayan’ and Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda.
In this exclusive conversation, Ameen Sayani had attributed his success to his late elder brother Hameed Sayani, acknowledging that his role for the achievements in life.
He credited Hameed Sayani for teaching him the art of connecting with the audience. Ameen Sayani also mentioned his desire to be considered a part of his listeners’ families, expressing his enjoyment in conversing with them and sharing moments of joy and sorrow. He emphasised that engaging with the audience had brought a new purpose to his life.
