The first issue of the Nagpur edition of Lokmat, published 50 years ago, has been converted into digital format. A replica of the front page of the issue was released at the hands of the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda. This unique initiative was taken on the occasion of the golden jubilee year of the Nagpur edition of Lokmat.

The first issue of the Nagpur edition of Lokmat was published on December 15, 1971. After a painstaking effort, the issue was digitised and a replica of the front page as well as the last page was created. The replica was released at the state-of-the-art Lokmat Printing Press in Butibori. It is necessary to pass on old memories to the new generation through digital mode. This is a new experiment for the present and it will be a new step for the future, said Vijay Darda.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were director (operations) of Lokmat Media Ashok Jain, executive editor of Lokmat Shrimant Mane, editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra, assistant vice president of Lokmat Samachar Matin Khan, former editor of Lokmat Dilip Tikhile, senior general manager (production) Rajendra Pillewar and general manager (circulation) Santosh Chipda.
