Bhoomipujan of NMIMS campus performed in Wathoda

“Earlier it used to be that where there was money, there was development. But now, it is not so. Now, the cost of resources is high. Where there are good schools and colleges, that state will progress. For this, good resources will be required,” Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said this during the bhoomipujan of Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal Mumbai’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies’s proposed Nagpur campus in Giddoba Nagar, Wathoda on Wednesday.
Today, where there are good resources, that city is progressing well. That is why we have emphasised on good manpower. It is because of good resources in Nagpur that many iconic institutions including Symbiosis have been established here. With the establishment of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) deemed university campus here, poor students of Vidarbha including Nagpur will get quality education, he added.
Fadnavis expressed confidence that the establishment of the campus here will uplift Nagpur at the global level. Students of Vidarbha including Nagpur will get a good education. “Gradually, Nagpur will become an education hub. The upcoming of NMIMS University has opened new doors of quality education for Nagpur,” Fadnavis further said. The bhoomipujan was done by Fadnavis under the chairmanship of Union Minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari. Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media Group and former Rajya Sabha member Dr Vijay Darda, MLAs Krishna Khopde and Mohan Mate, municipal commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari, district collector Dr Vipin Itankar, additional commissioners Aanchal Goyal and Ajay Charthankar, SVKM chairman and NMIMS University (Mumbai) vice chancellor MLC Amrishbhai Patel, SVKM secretary Dr JP Gandhi, SVKM NMIMS Global University, Dhule vice chancellor Sneha Parekh, Jagdish Parekh, Harshad Shah, Ujwal Pagariya, Rahul Dande, Ishwar Patil and BJP Nagpur city president Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde were present on the occasion.
A grand educational campus from state-of-the-art, quality KG to PG is to be realised on 45 acres of land in Wathoda of the city.
Knowledge will replace heap of garbage: Gadkari
Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari said that till now there used to be a heap of garbage on this land of Wathoda area. Anti-social elements used to gather in this area. But now, teaching services will be provided here through NMIMS. With this, the needy students of Nagpur and Vidarbha will be able to get quality education from here. Along with Orange Capital, Tiger, Health Hub, Nagpur city is now being recognized as an education hub.
Will build most beautiful campus of country: Patel
SVKM president and NMIMS University, Mumbai, vice chancellor MLC Amarishbhai Patel, while delivering the introductory remarks, said that a small sapling was planted in the form of this institution in Mumbai, which was inaugurated by Kasturba Gandhi. Today this institute has many campuses in the country, where state-of-the-art quality education is being provided with all the facilities. “On the same lines, we had requested for providing education from KG to PG in Nagpur, which was approved by the government. Today, the foundation stone of the campus has been laid and in the next two years the campus will come into existence. He assured that the most beautiful campus of NMIMS in the country and a world-class institute will be built in Nagpur,” he said.
