Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha, Dr Vijay Darda said here on Friday that only industrialisation will give fillip to real estate sector in Nagpur.

He was speaking as the  chief guest during the inauguration of a three-day Red Property Expo which kicked off at Chitnavis Centre on Friday.

Those who were prominently present on this occasion included founder and CEO of Nirmay Infratech Nayan Ghate, managing director of Design Inside Vipin Talwekar, director Gauri Weginwar, Red FM Nagpur Station in-charge Sunoj Sadanand, programme head of Red FM Anand Maste, RJ Pallavi, RJ Mahi, RJ Vipali, RJ Neel, Akshay Kawale and a large number of builders and developers .

Dr Darda on this occasion further said infrastructure development is taking place at a rapid pace in Nagpur in recent years.

Metro service and Samruddhi Expressway have become operational in Orange City.  Similarly,  prestigious institutions of academic excellence have come up and top-of-the line hospitals are also being built up.

However, housing is very important sector from the point of view of infrastructure development.

Despite this, the speed at which housing sector is developing in Pune, Thane and Gurgaon is not visible in Nagpur, he lamented.

He pointed out that there is no dearth of money in the city. However,  growth can be seen in the real estate sector only if there is a large scale public participation and meaningful policies are implemented by the government.

Earlier, Dr Darda inaugurated the expo by cutting the ribbon and performing aarti of Lord Ganesh. He also visited various stalls at the expo and got first hand information about the projects of stall owners.
