Fadnavis unveils logo, trophies of 2nd edition of Lokmat Global Economic Convention to be held on August 18 in London, CM to attend grand event
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has said the upcoming Lokmat Global Economic Convention (LGEC), scheduled to be held on August 18 in London, will play a vital role in creating an environment conducive to realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India the 3rd largest economy in the world.
Fadnavis made these remarks while releasing the logo and trophies of the 2nd edition of the Lokmat Global Economic Convention to be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Savoy Hotel in London, at 10 am (London time).
“Such conventions serve as a catalyst for global economic engagement and help build momentum for our national mission to elevate India’s standing among the world’s top economies,” he said.
Highlighting Maharashtra’s economic aspirations, the chief minister reiterated the state’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030 and said, “We have already started working towards this goal and I am confident that Maharashtra will not only meet but surpass this target.”
The chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda, managing director of Lokmat Media Group Devendra Darda, and photographer and artist Rachana Darda, called on the chief minister and invited him to the London edition of the convention. The chief minister has accepted the invitation to attend the convention.
Further emphasising the role of global business conventions in generating ideas and fostering partnerships, the chief minister said, “Such conventions attract top industry leaders, policymakers and thought leaders. They share insights, explore growth avenues and foster international cooperation.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the 2nd Lokmat Global Economic Convention in London, being held after the first edition’s grand succes in Singapore, will bring together stakeholders from diverse sectors to deliberate on India’s economic potential, investment opportunities and frameworks for sustainable growth.
The theme of the convention -‘India: The Emerging Global Guru in Economy – Challenges and Opportunities’ – reflects a powerful narrative of our nation’s timeless legacy, vibrant present and promising future. The convention will also highlight Maharashtra’s vital contribution to India’s economic growth story, recognising the state as industrial hub of the nation under the leadership of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
During the one-day convention, influential voices from across industry, government, politics, media, philanthropy and the Indian diaspora will engage in meaningful dialogue on economic transformation and collaboration.
The grand event will also feature the Lokmat Bharat Bhushan Awards, Kohinoor of India Awards, Maharashtra Ratna Awards and Global Sakhi Women Awards, celebrating outstanding individuals and institutions from diverse sectors.
