Lokmat honours blood donors

People who had donated blood at a blood donation campaign organised on July 2 on the occasion of 101st birth anniversary of veteran freedom fighter and founder editor of Lokmat, Jawaharlal Darda alias ‘Babuji’, were honoured during the State-level journalism award distribution ceremony held at Vasantrao Naik Memorial Hall (Vanamati) on Sunday. The  journalism awards were given away in the memory of  Lokmat’s first editor ‘Patrapandit’ Padma Shri P V Gadgil and Lokmat’s senior editor ‘Patramaharshi’ M Y alias Baba Dalvi.  On the occasion, Maharashtra industries minister Uday Samant, editorial director of The New Indian Express and former editor of India Today Prabhu Chawla, chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda and former minister and MLA Dr Nitin Raut along with editor of Lokmat Times N K Nayak, editor of Lokmat (Nagpur) Shrimant Mane, director of Lokmat Media Group Ashok Jain and senior editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra were present on the dais.
