Lokmat journalists accurately predicted LS poll results

Chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda, while delivering the welcome address said that Lokmat is the only group to institute journalism awards in the name of its first and second editors. “When we proposed to founder editor of Lokmat, veteran freedom fighter Jawaharlal Darda alias ‘Babuji’ that journalism awards should be instituted in his name, he asked us to do the same in the name of Lokmat’s first and second editors PV Gadgil and Baba Dalvi,” he added. Dr Darda said that Lokmat journalists were accurately able to predict the outcome of Lok Sabha results in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal because they had an ear to the ground. “The management never interferes in editorial working and this was the practice since Babuji’s days.
