The golden jubilee of Nagpur edition and the silver jubilee of Akola edition of Lokmat is being celebrated with great enthusiasm. Lokmat has started a Vidarbha level gratitude campaign to express its gratitude towards those who contributed in no small measures to make it the leading newspaper of the country and helped it become the number one Marathi daily in Maharashtra and Goa. As a part of this campaign, a gratitude ceremony was organised in Washim on Monday, June 20 in a pleasant atmosphere. A total of nine talented women who made their mark in various fields while taking care of their families were felicitated at the hands of the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda. The talented women feted included Ashwini Avtade, Deepa Wankhede, Dr Saroj Baheti, Pushpa Raut, Sangeeta Dhole, Gangasagar Uchitkar, Ujjwala Ukhalkar, Varsha Gangale and Rekha Rawale. On this occasion, Padma Shri awardee N C Kamble, Shirisha Bachchan Singh, editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra, executive editor of Lokmat, Nagpur edition, Shrimant Mane, senior manager (circulation) Santosh Chipda, executive editor of Lokmat, Akola edition, Kiran Agarwal, unit head Alok Kumar Sharma, editorial in-charge of Lokmat Samachar, Akola edition, Arun Kumar Sinha, among others, were prominently present.
