Yavatmal’s special link with Lord Ram
Yavatmal holds a special connection with Lord Ram. In the district’s Raveri village, there is a renowned temple dedicated to Goddess Sita, wife of Lord Ram. The temple finds mention in the Ramayana as well. According to the epic, during their exile, Sita gave birth to Luv and Kush at Sage Valmiki’s ashram, which is believed to be located at present-day Raveri village . The temple continues to attract devotees from far and wide.
‘Ramkatha’ narrated at Cambridge Univ
Morari Bapu’s ‘Ramkatha’ is revered not just in India but across the globe. He is the only storyteller to have delivered a ‘Ramkatha’ at Cambridge University. Two years ago, when he performed at the varsity, the then British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak couldn’t resist himself and he joined the audience to listen to the sacred discourse.
