The Goa government’s partnership with Harvard University is expected to largely benefit students at all levels within the state. Goa chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant recently shared comprehensive details about this collaboration with the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda.
Dr Darda met the chief minister Dr Sawant on Friday and the two leaders had an hour-long discussion on various topics. Chief minister elaborated on the initiatives and innovative measures being undertaken by the Goa government in the field of education. To strengthen secondary, higher secondary and collegiate education systems in Goa, the government recently entered into an agreement with Harvard University.
The partnership with Harvard will help Goan students achieve academic excellence and develop leadership skills. Harvard students will act as teachers, while Goa college students will serve as fellow trainers under this initiative. The chief minister also stated that students at the higher secondary level in Goa, as primary beneficiaries, will participate in this programme. The Goa government aims to ensure that no student is deprived of learning opportunities, which is why such initiatives and agreements are being pursued and entered into.
Dr Darda appreciated and lauded the Goa government’s efforts. Dr Sawant also shared insights about Goa’s advancements in the tourism sector during the discussion.
