Lokmat Sakhi, conceptualised by late Jyotsna Darda, is completing its silver
jubilee this year.
Various initiatives are being undertaken to mark the
occasion.
Looking at the special bond between a woman and a house, the Sakhi group organised a unique programme. The formation of a huge replica of a house was witnessed by lakhs of Sakhis at the BMC College ground here. The replica, made for the first time entered in Guinness Book of World Records. Officials of Guinness Book handed over a certificate of the same to chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda.
Lokmat has once again made a world record in the silver jubilee year of Lokmat’s Pune edition.
The replica of the house was made with participation of 2025 girls.
Besides Dr Darda, group editor of Lokmat Media Group Vijay Baviskar, director of Kumar Corp Hitish Kevalkumar Jain, directors of Suryakant Kakade Associates Jai Suryakant Kakade and Vijay Suryakant Kakade were present.
This is how world record was made!
Through the use of five colours – red, green, yellow, blue, and white – the girls were positioned to form a replica of a house. By incorporating elements like the door, windows, and garden, the girls’ enthusiastic participation led to the creation of this world record.
Collaboration for world record
The following partners contributed for the world record: Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Op Society, Yuvraj Dhamale Corp, Praveen Masale, Mango Leaf, Mega Traders, and venue partner DES.

The house created under the initiative of Lokmat was like a human figure, which made it feel even more personal. I was fortunate enough to witness the girls’ excitement to be part of the world record event, amidst the fresh morning atmosphere. I sincerely thank ‘Lokmat’ for this opportunity. Lokmat always works with unique concepts. I wish that even more new and innovative ideas continue to come forward.
