Lokmat’s Yogesh Pande feted on getting PhD in Mass Communication

Journalists are the mirror of the society and they must always be inquisitive with a view to bringing about positive change in the society. Similarly, to know the society, journalists must have a research-oriented point of view.

This was stated by Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda here on Friday.

He was speaking during felicitation of the deputy chief sub-editor of Lokmat Yogesh Pande on latter being awarded doctorate in Mass Communication.

The felicitation function was organised at Lokmat Bhavan.

‘The field of journalism undergoes many changes. While accepting these changes, the journalists must also lay emphasis on assimilating new technology. It is also utmost necessary to study the expectations of various segments of the society and the competition between different media so that the journalists get new direction to present news in the most effective way, Vijay Darda further said.

Director (operations) of Lokmat Ashok Jain, editors of Lokmat, Lokmat Samachar and Lokmat Times and heads of various department were also present.Yogesh Pande conducted research on ‘Popularity of Media Among Undergraduate Students in Nagpur District’. He is the only journalist in Lokmat Media to be awarded PhD.
