Talent of artists enables them to scale great heights

Rangotsav 2023-24 inaugurated at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery

“While artists may not secure government jobs, their abundant talent enables them to scale great heights independently,” said Sandeep Dongre, an arts and crafts critiquer from Mumbai. He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the annual arts exhibition, ‘Rangotsav 2023-24’ of Sharad Pawar College of Arts here at the Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery on Sunday.

Among the dignitaries present were Ghanashyam Ingole, chairman of Ingole Education Institute, trustee Rajesh Kimaye, former professor Alka Ramteke, college principal Aarti Dongre, examiner Veerendra Chopade and Hemant Mohod.

Dongre urged the students attending the ceremony to create good paintings and consider selling them. Institute chairman Ghanashyam Ingole extended best wishes to the students for the exhibition, while Alka Ramteke advised them to work hard.

During the exhibition, examiners Prof. Veerendra Chopade and Prof. Hemant Mohod praised the college for producing numerous renowned artists. Principal Aarti Dongre showcased the students’ work and later outstanding performers were also honoured.

The exhibition, featuring 200 artworks by 50 students, will run until March 19, from 11 am to 7 pm. Swanandi Borkar conducted proceedings of the event while Deepak Pachhang proposed a vote of thanks. Notable attendees included Prafull

Chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda inspected the exhibition at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery and praised the artists. Sunit Kothari, Purva Darda Kothari, principal Aarti Dongre, and Deepak Pachhang were present on the occasion.
