Rakesh Nagarikar secures second spot, Aamir Sheikh third

Lokmat Media Group organised a reel competition to promote the ‘Nagpur Anthem’ song ‘Desh Ki Shaan Nagpur Meri Jaan,’ created by Lokmat. Numerous social media influencers participated in the competition. Urvashi Palandurkar won first place, Rakesh Nagarikar secured second place and Aamir Sheikh won third.

The state-level journalism award distribution ceremony, given in memory of Lokmat’s first editor ‘Patrapandit’ Padma Shri PV Gadgil and senior editor ‘Patramaharshi’ MY alias Baba Dalvi, was held at the Vasantrao Naik Memorial Hall (Vanamati) on Sunday. Maharashtra minister for industries Uday Samant was the chief guest on the occasion.

The keynote speaker was editorial director of The New Indian Express and former editor of India Today Padma Bhushan Prabhu Chawla. Chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda, former state minister and MLA Dr Nitin Raut, director of Lokmat Media Group Ashok Jain, editor of Lokmat Times NK Nayak, senior editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra and editor of Lokmat (Nagpur) Shrimant Mane were  present. The guests presented the competition winners with prizes. The first prize was `51,000, the second `31,000 and the third `21,000, along with certificates and mementos.

Urvashi Palandurkar (first), Rakesh Nagarikar (second), Aamir Sheikh (third) and Anup Bagde (consolation prize of Rs 5,000) were given. Lokmat Samachar’s assistant vice president Mateen Khan conducted the proceedings of the programme. He also shared the story behind the Nagpur Anthem.

Blood donors honoured

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Veteran freedom fighter and founder editor of Lokmat Media Group Jawaharlal Darda alias Babuji, Lokmat Media Group organised a blood donation camp last Tuesday, July 2. Many donors paid tribute to Babuji by donating blood. All blood donors were honoured at the event. Book ‘Destiny or Choice’ released

A book titled ‘Destiny or Choice’ authored by Kyra Jain (fourth from left) was released by the guests on the occasion. The dignitaries highly praised Kyra for writing on such an important subject at a young age.
