The work of Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line, which would pave the way for the overall development of Vidarbha and Marathwada has gained momentum. Work of 15 kilometre on the stretch is complete.
Accordin g to railway officials, who shared the information about the project, looking at the pace of the works the work from Deoli to Kalamb station is likely to be complete in next two months.
It may be mentioned that this is the dream project of chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda. He is making constant efforts to get the project completed at the earliest. In this regard, Dr Darda is in regular touch with chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar along with Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
In this backdrop, the government has set up a special cell to ensure the project does not face any hurdle and take timely review of the much-awaited project.
Chief secretary of the State Manoj Sainik, principal secretary of chief minister Bhushan Gagrani and principal secretary of deputy chief minister Shrikar Pardeshi are also keeping a constant watch on the project. These officials also hold discussions about the project with Dr Darda regularly.
Now, the eagerly-waited and one of the most important project has picked up the pace.
The work on 15 kilometre stretch between Wardha and Deoli stations and 23.61 stretch between Deoli and Kalamb stations is in final stages. Looking at the speed of works, railway officials expect that work on these two stretches would be complete by the end of this year.
Similarly, the work on the remaining 246 kilometres between Nanded and Kalamb is also moving with a fast pace.
