Silver jubilee of Lokmat Sakhi: 32 women from Wardha district felicitated

The Lokmat Sakhi Nari Shakti Sanman ceremony was held at Datta Meghe Auditorium, Sawangi (Meghe), to mark the silver jubilee of Lokmat Sakhi. This initiative was started by founder of Lokmat Sakhi late Jyotsna Darda to provide women a powerful platform.
A total of 32 women from different fields were felicitated and presented awards for their outstanding contribution and achievements on the occasion.
The chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda presided over the ceremony while guardian minister of Wardha dstrict Dr Pankaj Bhoyar was the chief guest. The president of Priyadarshini Mahila Vikas Sanstha Adv Sheetal Bhoyar, district collector Vanmathi C, superintendent of police Anurag Jain, Zilla Parishad CEO Jithin Rahman and special executive officer of Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (deemed university) Sanjay Ingle Tigaonkar were prominent among those present.

Dr Pankaj Bhoyar praised Lokmat Media Group for not only honouring women but also ensuring that their contributions are recognised in society. He noted that women are now leading in all fields, with Maharashtra appointing Sujata Saunik as chief secretary and Rashmi Shukla as director general of police.

The Lokmat Sakhi was established with the objective of providing a platform for women, enabling them to express their thoughts freely, said chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda. It is satisfying to see that through Lokmat Sakhi, women have been integrated into the mainstream of development. Maharashtra gave the nation its first woman President, Pratibha Patil, who was also a member of the Lokmat Sakhi, he said. Notably, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta have always supported Lokmat Sakhi. This is they are considered a part of Lokmat family. Lokmat has always taken the initiative in the fight for legal rights of women from all sections of society and will remain steadfast in its commitment to honour them.
