Pawar completes 55 years of parliamentary career

Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda along with the members of Lokmat Parliamentarian Award Committee called on NCP president and former Union minister Sharad Pawar and congratulated him on completing 55 years of his parliamentary career on Sunday.

Pawar was first elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1967 as an MLA. Since then, he has been a member of the Legislative Assembly, the Legislative Council and the Lok Sabha at various stages of his political career. He is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha. In his long and eventful parliamentary career,  he did not take break even for a single day.

Darda said Pawar’s contribution to the parliamentary history of the country has been extremely valuable and exemplary.

The members of Lokmat Parliamentarian Award Committee, former Union minister Suresh Prabhu, senior BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, RSP MP N K Premachandran, former secretary general of Rajya Sabha secretariat Yogendra Narayan, editor of TV9 Bharatvarsh Hemant Sharma, senior journalist Shekhar Gupta, national editor of Lokmat Media Harish Gupta and senior editor of Lokmat Sharad Gupta were present on the occasion. Senior Congress leader and former member of Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad was also present on the occasion but left early as he had to attend the Congress Working Committee meeting. But prior to leaving,  Azad congratulated Sharad Pawar  and had a talk with him.
