Dr Vijay Darda meets Dhankhar, discusses several issues
Rahul Pandhi, chairman of The Himachal Times, a popular English daily of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, called on the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Both the media personalities discussed several issues pertaining to the development of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and shared their views on important subjects related to both the states./p>
Dr Darda said he has a very old association with the schools in Mussoorie and the internationally renowned author and novelist Ruskin Bond, who was born in Himachal Pradesh./p>
The veteran parliamentarian further said the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand is well known for Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — which are nestled high up in the Himalayas./p>
Both the states are also known for healthcare and Uttarakhand is famous for the holy river Ganges. The geographically strategic Kumaon Range is crucial for defence purposes, Dr Darda added./p>
Appreciating The Himachal Times, Dr Darda stated that the newspaper has been playing a very important role in the development of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand since independence.
