Sarvodayis have committed a sin by not telling it, says Dwadashiwar

“Those who should have told the real history never did. Sarvodayis should have told the true history of Mahatma Gandhi. However, Sarvodayis have committed the sin of not telling it,” said veteran Gandhian thinker and editor Suresh Dwadashiwar here on Sunday. On the commemoration day of Gandhian activist Balasaheb Sarode, a book ‘Sarvatmaka Sarvodaya’ dedicated to his work was released at Sarvodaya Ashram’s Vinoba Vichar Kendra. Dwadashiwar presided over the function.

Veteran social and political analyst Dr Vishwambhar Chaudhari, the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda and lawyer Asim Sarode were prominent among those present.

“We are only told about the differences between Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. However, the affinity between them is not stated on purpose. Dr Ambedkar had said, ‘If anyone understands me in this world, it is Mahatma Gandhi’. No one has ever said this,” said Dwadashiwar.

He further said there was currently a factory of making slaves in the country. “Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi was constitutional and declared. At present, however, unconstitutional and undeclared emergency is going on. Freedom of religion, right to change religion should remain,” he added.

Dwadashiwar further said the current situation is like where thoughts end, fools are born. The programme was moderated by Ravindra Bhusari. Introduction was done by Amit Sarode, while introductory address was delivered by Asim Sarode. Guests were welcomed by Rama and Rani Sarode while a vote of thanks was proposed by Sandesh

Singalkar.

The present time is of Mahatma Gandhi’s disappearance from politics and Dr Ambedkar’s departure from democracy. In this era of suppressing freedom of speech, one should speak one’s mind before one’s voice is silenced, said veteran social and political analyst Dr Vishwambhar Chaudhari.

Let’s take Balasaheb’s legacy forward: Darda

“Balasaheb Sarode and I were friends. Balasaheb always talked of transformation and was a proponent of self transformation,” said the Chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda. Taking legacy of his thoughts forward, we intend to bring about a change in the country, he said.
