Wardha-Deoli: Trial run of CRS train with 8 bogies conducted

The trial run of the CRS (Chief Railway Safety) train was conducted from Wardha to Deoli on the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line on Thursday. Engineers and technical experts of Nagpur Railway Division were present on the occasion. The dual-engine CRS train with eight bogies ran at 110 km per hour during the trial. The work of the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line is in the final stage. The work on the railway section from Wardha to Kalamb in Yavatmal district has been completed.

During the trial, senior railway officials checked the technical glitiches with the help of different devices. The loco pilot of the CRS train was Gajanan Rode. The commissioner of railway safety, DRM Tushar Kant Pandey, AOM Chauthani, station master V R Bhale, assistant pilot Suraj Ingole, guard Vinay Khalko and other officials were present at Deoli station.

 

Train to run from Wardhato Kalamb in Jan

A total of `3,500 crore is being spent on the project. Under the first phase, 95 per cent of work has been completed on 40 km stretch from Wardha to Kalamb and 38 km from Kalamb to Yavatmal. The length of the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded Railway project is 284 kms. The work of a single line from Yavatmal to Nanded is in the final stage. Total 15 major bridges, 29 tunnels and 5 other bridges have been constructed on this route. The railway station in Deoli has also been operationalised. The train from Wardha to Yavatmal will run by January.

MP Ramdas Tadas said after 2015, the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line project was on the Prime Minister Office (PMO) portal.

Every piece of information related to the project was being shared with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The then chief minister Devendra Fadnavis provided all possible cooperation from the State for the project.

 

Dr Vijay Darda’s efforts bear fruits

The chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda left no stone unturned to ensure speedy completion of Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded rail project, which is critical for opening the door to development in backward areas of Vidarbha and Marathwada. Dr Vijay Darda pursued the matter consistently. His efforts were rewarded when the Central government approved the project in 2008. In 2009, the construction work of this project was inaugurated in Yavatmal by the then railways minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Dr Vijay Darda is still making efforts to expedite the project. He maintained regular correspondence with the railway authorities.
