Dhami invites industrial investment in U’khand

CM of hill state holds discussion with Dr Darda

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said his government will set up industries that will generate large scale employment for the youth in his state. At the same time, it will be ensured that the industries do not harm the environment, he said.

Dhami arrived in Mumbai to seek investment in Uttarakhand and held a road show. During his visit, the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda called on the chief minister and discussed cooperation between Maharashtra and Uttarakhand in different fields. During the meeting with Dr Darda, Dhami said every year, lakhs of people from India visit Uttarakhand, which is known as Devbhoomi. Moreover, a large number of foreign tourists visit the picturesque locations of Uttarakhand, particularly Rishikesh. “We intend to offer ‘Dev Darshan’ to tourists from India and abroad to boost the tourism industry,” Dhami told Dr Darda.

Dhami apprised Dr Darda that Uttarakhand was politically stable. There was no pollution and the law and order situation was also well under control. In this background, nobody would hesitate to establish an industry in Uttarakhand, he noted.

MoUs worth ₹1.24L cr inked

Dhami stated Indian as well as overseas entrepreneurs have expressed desire to invest in Uttarakhand. Till now, MoUs worth ₹1.24 lakh crore have been signed for investment in Uttarakhand. The state has launched a single window scheme for businesses. A new policy for investors is also being implemented which has led to tremendous industrial progress.

 

Invitation to visit Nagpur

During the meeting Dr Darda invited Dhami to visit Nagpur, which he accepted. Dr Darda said he had a pleasant and cordial talk with Dhami. On Monday, Dhami held a road show in Mumbai to attract investment and signed MoUs worth ₹30,200 crore in a meeting with industrialists. In the meeting, Dhami said coordination and partnership in the industrial sector between Maharashtra and Uttarakhand was necessary. Entrepreneurs from Maharashtra should invest in tourism, energy and other sectors, for which the Uttarakhand government will provide necessary facilities including 40 per cent subsidy to those investing in the tourism sector.
