Sadhguru gives clarion call to ‘Save Soil’ from Lokmat’s platform

There is a need for a global policy on soil conservation. Disputes over borders between states and countries are only a human problem. We draw a line for convenience and think it is right. If you think that Earth is a cake and your responsibility is over by taking a piece of that cake, it is not right. Microbial life is a global process. Therefore, the ‘Save Soil’ campaign is a global effort to change the current policy, asserted Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.

Sadhguru, who has visited 26 countries across the world, interacted with Punekars from Lokmat Media’s platform to create awareness about soil conservation.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda, managing director and editorial director of Lokmat Media Devendra Darda, president of Gravittus Foundation Usha Kakade, managing director of Goel Ganga Group Atul Goel, founder president of Suryadatta Group Dr Sanjay Chordiya and chairman of Topworth Group Abhay Lodha.

Speaking further, Sadhguru said, “Soil is the source of our physical existence. Soil contains billions of micro-organisms. Their lives are a complex process. As it grows, a life is created. That is why human life is rooted in it. Billions of years ago, the fungus Algi discovered how food is made from sunlight. This is what we call photosynthesis. At that time, there was only one per cent oxygen in the atmosphere. Now it is 21 per cent. This is due to photosynthesis only. However, in the last 1,000 years, 85 per cent of the Earth’s photosynthesis has been destroyed.

The soil is our mother, But we are beginning to consider soil as a resource.”

Sadhguru further said many countries have taken soil as a passive object. The situation is the same in our country.

‘Need to change the way we look at life’

l Currently, there is an atmosphere of intolerance and hatred in the country and around the world. Asked what he would do about it, he said, “The current climate is better than it was a thousand years ago, when it comes to tensions between countries and societies. Check the history.”

l Compared to then, we are now living in peace and harmony. The current tension is only visible in the TV studios. If you walk the streets of Pune, you will not see this tension.

l The situation is similar in the country. Some dissatisfied people are given unrealistic importance. This is wrong. The media needs to take positive things seriously. Don’t go for less than your full potential.

Sadhguru has awakened dormant society: Darda

Lauding the noble mission of Sadhguru, the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda remarked that Sadhguru’s youthful enthusiasm is astounding. He has the potential to make a difference in people’s lives. He has created a unique consciousness through patriotism and love for the world. He has embraced every sensible person, be it children, adults, politicians or artists. Sadhguru has awakened the dormant society and galvanised the system. There is no dearth of Sadhgurus in our country. However, it takes a lot of hard work to become a true Sadhguru. Sadhguru has always valued action. He has the potential to enlighten the whole world. The Lokmat family is also involved in Sadhguru’s ‘Save Soil’ campaign. The Lokmat sparked a major movement across the state through its blood donation initiative during the coronavirus pandemic. Similarly, Lokmat Media Group will definitely take the initiative in reducing carbon emissions and for the conservation of the soil.
