‘Jai Ho’ marks grand opening of Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav

Melodious voice of Sukhwinder Singh and Sanjay Dutt’s dialogues leave audience spellbound

The Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav got off to a colourful and musical start at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education ground on Friday with melodious hit songs by playback singer Sukhwinder Singh, who ruled the hearts of the youth on the basis of his impressive voice. On the first day of the mahotsav Chak De India Sukhwinder Singh concert was organised.

However, before his arrival, actor Sanjay Dutt won the hearts of the crowd through the dialogues of his films and with his simplicity. After the inauguration of the mahotsav, playback singer Sukhwinder Singh captivated the crowd in such a way that the audience of all age groups present there could not stop themselves from dancing. Sukhwinder Singh made a dazzling entry into the stage with his song ‘Haule, Haule Ho Jayega Pyar’. After that he presented his all-time hit song ‘Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya’. After that he presented a song from the world-wide famous film Slumdog Millionaire’s ‘Jai Ho’. His heart-throbbing musical journey did not stop here, he then presented the title song of the another hit film ‘Chak De India’. Later, he presented the title song of film Sultan and film Omkara’s title song ‘Bidi Jalai Le’. He further made the audience spellbound presenting few more hit songs from Hindi films at his own style. The audience enjoyed the concert with great enthusiasm and danced to the beats of music.

Prior to this, the mahotsav was inaugurated at the hands of actor Sanjay Dutt. On the occasion, Union minister for surface transport Nitin Gadkari, chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda, MP Krupal Tumane, former MP Datta Meghe, member of minority commission Adv Sulekha Kumbhare, MLA Mohan Mate, MLC Nago Ganar, president of organising committee Anil Sole and others were present. BJP legislators Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Vasant Khandelwar who won Legislative Council elections were felicitated during the function.

‘Art, culture and literature should be preserved’

Union minister Nitin Gadkari while making objective behind organising the festival clear, said, “The main motive behind this is to preserve our art, culture and literature. This is our important heritage. It is the main means of culture and enlightenment in the society. This motivates us to do good work.”

‘Can’t give speech’

During inaugural function, actor Sanjay Dutt greeted everyone by repeating the dialogue ‘Kaisi Ho Mamu…’ from his film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. He also said that he can’t give speech. He also said, “We should always respect parents and elders in life. I have the same respect for Union minister Nitin Gadkari as his father Sunil Dutt. Union minister Gadkari is my elder brother and my life is also present for him.” He also described Vijay Darda as his mentor and elder brother. Dutt also appealed to the citizens to write letters to film producer and director Raju Hirani saying that he produce the third part of should make Munna Bhai MBBS.
