Lokmat’s gratitude campaign to mark golden jubilee

Women of achievement feted

The golden jubilee of Nagpur edition of Lokmat is being celebrated with great enthusiasm. Lokmat has started a Vidarbha level gratitude campaign to express its gratitude towards those who have contributed in no small measures to make it the leading newspaper of the country and helped it become the number one Marathi daily in Maharashtra and Goa.

As a part of this campaign, a gratitude ceremony was held in Buldhana on Tuesday in an atmosphere filled with joy and enthusiasm. In this ceremony, 11 talented women who have made their mark in various fields while taking care of their families, were felicitated at the hands of the chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda.

Among the women who were felicitated on the occasion included the Bhil community’s first CRPF jawan Monika Pimple, ideal and enterprising teacher Godavari Tambekar (Jhore), female ‘sarpamitra’ Vanita Borade, social worker Dr Prajakta Gaikwad, Monali Jadhav who set a new record in archery, founder president of Kshitij Foundation Snehal Chaudhary Kadam, Jyoti Kakade who served the orphans, Dr Ashwini Jadhav who inspired people to fight against coronavirus pandemic, Premlata Sonone who fought to enforce prohibition, and Bhil community’s first D.Ed. Pooja Pimple.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Rahul Darda, head of Lokmat’s Hello Akola Rajesh Shegokar, senior general manager (circulation) Santosh Chipda, executive editor of Lokmat Akola edition Kiran Agrawal, editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra, district superintendent of police Arvind Chawaria, former Zilla Parishad president Manisha Pawar, founder chairman of Buldhana Urban Credit Cooperative Society Radheshyam Chandak, executive editor of Lokmat Nagpur edition Shrimant Mane and the unit head of Lokmat Akola edition Alok Kumar Sharma.
