Babuji’s vision took Lokmat to new heights: Prez
President of India Ram Nath Kovind was presented the first bust of veteran freedom fighter and founder of Lokmat Media Group Jawaharlal Darda alias Babuji by the Chairman of Editorial Board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
Darda was accompanied by the Managing Director and Editorial Director of Lokmat Media Devendra Darda.
It is pertinent to mention here that Babuji’s birth centenary celebrations commenced at Yavatmal on July 2 in presence of dignitaries from all walks of life. A book on ‘Babuji’ written and edited by veteran journalist and former editor of Lokmat Madhukar Bhave was also released on the occasion.
During his meeting, Darda also presented his latest book ‘Ringside: Up, Close and Personal on India and Beyond’ to the President.
The President said the height attained by the Lokmat Media Group could be achieved only due to Babuji’s vision and sincere efforts.
Babuji’s bust has been designed by well-known artist and sculptor Suryakant Lokhande with white marble dust and ceramic. The beautiful statue has a wooden base with Babuji’s signature.
