Vijay Darda had presented book ‘Vinoba Darshan’ to Lata Didi

Legendary singer had paid visit to Yavatmal House on November 19, 2005

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar had come to Nagpur to attend golden jubilee felicitation function of Dr Ram Shewalkar on November 19, 2005. Prior to this programme, she had visited residence ‘Yavatmal House’ of chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda at Rahate Colony Square.

During this family visit, Lata Mangeshkar had discussed about journey and development of Lokmat, veteran freedom fighter and founder editor of Lokmat Media Jawaharlal Darda alias Babuji and others with Vijay Darda.

Vijay Darda had also presented book ‘Vinoba Darshan’, a collection of photographs taken by Gautam Bajaj, to her. Lata Mangeshkar was accompanied with brother Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar. She was welcomed by Vijay Darda and president of Lokmat Sakhi Manch, Jyotsna Darda. While recalling her struggling days, Lata Mangeshkar had spoke about old association with late Jawaharlal Darda and Darda family. While the discussion was going on, she took out the ring from her hand and said that this ring was given by her mother. Lata Mangeshkar had agreed to send the similar ring to Jyotsna Darda.

After Vijay Darda informed her that Jawaharlal Darda Music Academy was started in memory of ‘Babuji’, Lata Didi was all praise for this initiative. Lata Didi going through the book ‘Na Sampanare Shabda’ penned by chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda.
