Electronic interlocking system operational at Deoli rly station

Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line: Work of Bhidi & Kalamb stations in full swing
The electronic interlocking system has become operational at Deoli railway station, one of the prominent stations on the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway route. Deoli is the first railway station located at a distance of 15 kms from Wardha.
The salient features of Deoli railway station are that the station has three lines, one main and two general loop lines.
There are a total of 15 signals, with 12 main and 3 shunt signals. There is one siding to stabilise the loco engine and Class A earthing protection to safeguard the electronic interlocking system. Optical fiber and copper cable connectivity is provided from Wardha station. In case of an incident in this stretch, EC sockets have been installed after every 1 km throughout the 15-km route to allow section controllers to be contacted.
It may be noted that chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis have been making special efforts for last one year to speed up the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway project, which has the potential to boost trade and industry in Vidarbha and Marathwada. To ensure that there is no impediment in this project, the government has constituted a ‘Special War Room’ and the progress of the work is being reviewed regularly.
Meanwhile, the construction work of Bhidi and Kalamb railway stations, which are a few kilometres away from Deoli railway station, is also going on apace and the railway authorities have assured to complete the same soon too.
The Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line is the ‘dream project’ of chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media Group and former member of Rajya Sabha Dr Vijay Darda. He has been constantly following it up by discussing with all the stakeholders from time to time so that the work of this project is completed promptly. Against this backdrop, the Central Railway officials on Saturday informed that Deoli railway station has been made operational with electronic interlocking system, giving a positive push to the project.
