Yogi: Need to enhance goodwill between Maharashtra and UP

   By Vijay Darda | 06-01-2023

Chairman of the editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda deliberated on the points of mutual interests of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Wednesday. Yogi is on a visit to Mumbai to attract investments to Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi informed Darda about how Uttar Pradesh has developed and flourished under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also told Darda about the massive infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh in the fields of power, agriculture, tourism, road construction, highway construction, airports, and water management, among other things, and various steps taken by the UP government.

Yogi also underlined the need to build greater goodwill and cooperation between the two states. Yogi said that he does not believe in narrow-mindedness. He does not look at anyone from the point of view of whether someone is from Maharashtra or Uttar Pradesh. He considers every person a citizen of India.

Yogi told Darda that as far as national interest is concerned, he does not have a partisan point of view. The country is paramount for him. He has no differences with anyone on matters of national interest. Yogi said that he is inviting people from Maharashtra to invest in Uttar Pradesh.

Darda told Yogi that he is amazed to see the impact of temple tourism in Uttar Pradesh and how it generated a lot of revenue in 2022 in a short period. Higher growth is likely in 2023 too. This has been possible only due to effective law and order management across the state by the present government. Darda remarked that he was particularly impressed with Yogi’s effective management during the Covid pandemic as UP was the only state which was fully functional in terms of industries and how migrants from across the nation were taken care of and were provided food, shelter and employment in the state.

Darda presented a marble bust of the founder editor of Lokmat Media Group and veteran freedom fighter Jawaharlal Darda alias Babuj to Yogi. Darda told him that the Lokmat Group is celebrating the birth centenary year of Babuji.

Darda invited the UP Chief Minister to the Lokmat Parliamentary Awards ceremony slated to be held in New Delhi on February 7.

UP minister for industrial development, export promotion, NRI, investment promotion Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ and minister of stamp, court fee & registration Ravindra Jaiswal were also present.
