Chairman of editorial board of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda called on Union finance and corporate affairs minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her North Block office here on Tuesday.
Darda invited her for being the chief guest of Lokmat Golden Jubilee function in Pune and also thanked the finance minister for facilitating the release of `100 commemorative coin in the memory of veteran freedom fighter and founder of Lokmat Media group Jawaharlal Darda.
During the course of the meeting, Darda congratulated the finance minister for the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative taken two years ago which is bearing fruits now.
India is now a major international manufacturing hub and global companies are making a beeline for setting up their units in the country.
The oil price management issue particularly in the wake of Russia-Ukraine war including global factors leading to rising food inflation were also discussed during the meeting.
Darda congratulated the finance minister for meeting these challenges and keeping India’s GDP growing at a pace which is better than many developed nations.
Darda also presented her with a saree which has been specially weaved by Bhandara district’s artisans supported by Maharashtra State Handloom Corporation.
